Excellent suggestion for "From the Earth to the Moon" I'll have to head over to your place and snag it!

The receiver is on the shelf above the TV on the far left. The surrond spekers are behind the futon pointing upwards. The sound bounces right off that storage unit above the futon. It sounds great! Ths sub is located behind the curtain on the left side of the TV (behind the left speaker).

Oh, and that "Golden Globe" is actually an Emmy that I won for a news story I did a few years ago! And yeah, I love Aragorn's sword!

The TV is a Pioneer SD-533HD5 Its a rear projection CRT. It's going on 4 years old, but still looks great and has the best stretch modes in the biz. I still think it looks a lot better than some Plasma/LCD/DLPs I've seen. Unfortunately, they've been phasing out the "big boxes" for a couple years now. I doubt you could find my model anymore. The only caveat is that it does not have an HDMI connection.

Those "Coming Soon" stands were "Martha Stewart" easils that I bought from K-Mart a few years ago. I made the little coming soon signs myself (yeah, I know... "get a life!"). They don't sell them anymore, and I had to switch to a different kind of stand for the other side of the shelves.

Well guys, I rented until my mid to late thirties. We moved into the house about 10 years ago. And for the longest time settled for this set-up which we still have upstairs (we live in a raised ranch).



The room has vaulted ceilings which goes over a wall leading into the kitchen/dining area. It's very open. Controlling the lighting in the day time was impossible and the audio was just all over the place.

I'd talk once in awhile about getting a big HDTV and just watch the wife roll her eyes. Anyway, we had this unfinished room downstairs that we were using for storage. One day she said that if I could get the room finished, I could buy an HDTV and turn the room into my Home Theater.

Once she said that, it took less than a month to get it done (before she could change her mind!). That was almost four years ago.

The best thing is, we can shut ourselves off from the rest of the house... No ringing phones, no cat fights in the living room, etc!

So I guess what I'm saying is have patience, your day will come! If I had one recommendation, I would just say try not to get a house that's a raised ranch. What I wouldn't give for a full basement! Now that would be an HT that dreams are made of!
