Hey, folks...
I've been considering the purchase of the Blu-Ray of Battlestar Galactica. Absolutely love the series. Anyways... I've been poking around online, and it's the general consensus of several people on Amazon that seasons 3/4 are "darker" on bluray than in their broadcast/DVD forms. Someone was bothered enough that they actually purchased both versions - US and UK Blu Release - and did a comparison on YouTube for the packaging (Man, the US got screwed on that one - UK packaging on this rocks). Also, supposedly he said that the UK version is free from the darkness that supposedly plagues the US release. (check out the video here.)
My problem is this: I also remember reading about some of the extended scenes being cut from the UK release of the show as compared to the US extended versions (though I believe this was in reference to the DVD releases, not necessarily the Blu release).
Anyone here heard of these issues? Are these people out of their minds? Am I crazy for even caring!? *grin* - As Blu is region-free, I'm not worried about being unable to play the UK versions, and I'm fully aware that some of the Resistance Webisodes were exluded from the "Complete" series collections (which I still don't understand, but hey). - I just want to make sure that I'm not missing out on the extended versions of the shows, and that I'm not getting a too-dark copy. Comments from anyone that has the blu versions would much be appreciated
