Not sure if I'm going to do this or not, but Warner is now offering a trade-up offer for their HD discs to Blu. The good thing about this? They only want the original cover art or upc, depending upon the set, so we would get to keep our original media! Upgrade prices range from $4.95 to $14.95 each with $4.95 being the single-movie cost, including the 5-disc Blade Runner set ($9.95 for the Planet Earth upgrade, $14.95 for the Ultimate Matrix and Harry Potter Collection upgrades).
I have all 5 of the single-disc Harry Potters, Ultimate Matrix Collection, The Last Samurai, The Departed, and maybe one or two more. For me, it will run at least $50, plus s&h (supposedly $6.95).
I'm going to have to debate about this, as I've $100 in with just the Harry Potter and Ultimate Matrix collections. Doing this, I'll now up my total investment in these movies (for high-def) at $150... not to mention that the majority of my HD movies are warner titles, so I'll essentially be making my HD-DVD player useless.
Hmmmmm... decisions, decisions
Thought you guys would like to know - I figure that it's a good offer for those looking to standardize their high-def collections to one format!
